Background Artists exist in every film project—and working as a Background Artist is the easiest way for individuals to get a start in the Motion Picture Industry.
The Background Artist Network is designed for individuals to market themselves to filmmakers as background actors.
Let’s begin with the search terms that we've created that help a filmmaker find a film just from using our Key Search:
Gender – Acknowledging a person’s gender is something that has become very important in the Motion Picture Industry. So, we thought it would be important give individuals that option.
Ethnic Look – MPS gives Users the ability to search for Background based on their Ethnic Look.
Union Affiliate – Our Network is designed to help Users find Background based their union affiliate information. Choose non-union Background just by entering the word “None” in the search box. The Background Artist Network welcomes everyone to be a part of it, whether they are in a union or not.
Job Title – The Network gives Users the ability to search for more than just an Background. It also gives them the ability to find specific characters that they need for a project such as an Bartender, Chef, Dancer, Musician, etc.
Playable Age – Search here for Background based on the age of a character.
Work Availability –The network has an Availability Switch that gives members the ability to instantly let the industry know they are available to work.
Language - The Motion Picture Industry is a global business. The Team at Motion Picture Space has taken this into consideration by creating a platform that gives filmmakers from all over the world the ability to find Background that speaks in any language they may need.
Athletic Abilities – Our Network give Users the ability to find Background based on their athletic Abilities.
Proximity – Proximity searches for actors anywhere in the U.S. and internationally. This option is designed for filmmakers to network within their own cities to make a motion picture.
After you have finished with all the search terms related to your Job Title you will then add all the information you would like to showcase on your Background Artist Profile Page.
Character Information – Background Artist can publish information such as the height, weight, hair color, eye color, body measurements, shoe size, dress size, etc.—information that could be important to a project that may cast you—but also optional.
Nudity – Each Profile Page allows Background Artist to publish weather they may or may not be interested in performing nude on a project.
Photo Gallery – Each Profile Page allows Background Artist to publish up to 20 images of themselves.
Representation & Management – Be sure your manager’s or agent’s information is highlighted here.
Website Links – Background Artist who already have websites can publish their link on the profile page. They can also click on the Auto Redirect option that will automatically take Users directly to that website once they click on your search result.
Certificates – Background Artist can publish any certificates associated with their schooling or abilities.
Personal or Presentation Video – Publish personal or presentation videos that you have created on smart devices here.
External Video – Background Artist can publish any presentation video or professional reel about themselves or their position that is currently on other networks such as YouTube, Vimeo, just by copying and pasting its URL.
Resumé – Publishing your resumé on your profile page is fast and easy. Simply list the project name, the city where the project was made, and the year you worked. Users can also upload images related to the project and copy and paste the URL of any video associated with it, from other streaming services.
Child Background Artist – To market a Child Background Artist on The Background Artist Network the child’s parent most create an account using their information. The parent then chooses the Child Background search term on the Job Title menu. Once the Child Background search term has been chosen a text box will appear and the child’s name should be entered in box. This will create the Child Actor’s Profile page allowing all the information about the child to be correctly entered.
Once a member of the Background Artist network, Motion Picture Space recommends marketing personal automobiles or motorcycles on The Picture Vehicle Network. The film industry is always looking for Background Artists and their vehicles.
Motion Picture Space is not a Social Media Network.
